Modern Hebrew Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment Hebrew Program

Adat Shalom Synagogue in partnership with Eastern Michigan University offers a dual enrollment Hebrew program for 9-12 graders. This program is open to all high school students (entering grades 9-12) in the community with a GPA of at least 2.5.
In the pilot year, the following courses are offered (September 2016 to June 2017)
  • FLAN 179 – Hebrew 1 – for beginner and advanced beginner students
  • FLAN 279 – Hebrew 2 – for intermediate and advanced students
 Students earn .5 credit of high school language (or a full credit, depending on the high school) as well as 3 college credits. Class began on Sunday, September 11 and ends on Sunday, June 4. Classes are held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Adat Shalom Synagogue.

2017-2018 Information

We are looking forward to a second year of partnering with Eastern Michigan University. Students who take classes during both semesters will earn a full high school credit as well as 6 college credits!

In the fall, the following 3 credit courses will be offered:

  • FLAN 179 (Hebrew 1)
  • FLAN 279 (Hebrew 2)
  • FLAN 379 (Hebrew 3)

In the spring, the following 3 credit courses will be offered:

  • FLAN 279 (Hebrew 2)
  • FLAN 379 (Hebrew 3)
  • FLAN 479 (Hebrew 4)
